PuzzlePacket

Privacy Policy

Effective October 18, 2026

PuzzlePacket is a site where teachers make word puzzles, print them, and share them with their students. It is operated by Binyamin Plotzker. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect and what we do with it. Questions: info@puzzlepacket.com.

The short version

  • Teachers make an account with an email address. Students never make accounts.
  • When a teacher asks for it, a student types a first name or nickname so the teacher can see their score.
  • We don’t sell personal information, show ads, or use tracking or advertising cookies.

What we collect

From teachers

  • Your email address and password. The password is stored scrambled (hashed) by our sign-in system; we can’t read it.
  • What you make and save: word lists, clues, packets, and their settings.
  • Your plan (Free or Pro), any Pro code you redeem, and how many AI credits you use.

From students

  • Students play a packet from a link their teacher shares. They never sign up and never set a password.
  • We store each puzzle’s result for the teacher: score, stars, how many answers were correct, and time taken.
  • The teacher chooses what the link asks for. By default it asks for a first name or nickname, which is stored with the results. A link can also ask for nothing at all.
  • A teacher can also choose a link that asks for an email address. That option is only for students aged 13 or older, and only where the school allows it.

On your device

The site uses your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in, remember settings such as sound and language, and save game progress. We don’t use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

How we use it

  • To run PuzzlePacket: sign you in, save your packets, and show teachers their own students’ results.
  • To send account emails, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password.

We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

  • Hosting and database. Accounts, packets, and results are stored with a hosting and database provider on servers in the United States.
  • AI. When a teacher uses the AI feature, the topic or text the teacher types is sent to an AI provider to suggest words and clues. Please don’t type students’ personal information into it. Students don’t use the AI feature.
  • Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address like any web request.
  • Payments. Pro and AI credit packs are paid through Stripe, which processes the card and billing details you enter on its checkout page under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, your plan, its renewal date, and your credit balance so your account works.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Children’s privacy (COPPA)

PuzzlePacket is made for teachers. Accounts are for adults; children don’t create accounts.

When a child plays a packet, the only personal information we collect is a first name or nickname typed for the teacher (when the teacher’s link asks for one), stored with the child’s scores. We use it only to show that teacher the results. We don’t knowingly collect any other personal information from children under 13, and we don’t use children’s information for advertising.

A parent or teacher can ask us to delete a child’s results at any time. Email info@puzzlepacket.com with the teacher’s name or the packet, and the name the child typed. A teacher can also delete a packet from My packets, which deletes all of its results.

How long we keep it

  • Account information and packets: for as long as you have an account.
  • Students’ results: until the teacher deletes the packet or asks us to delete them.
  • To delete your account and everything in it, email us from your account’s address. We will delete it within 30 days.

Keeping it safe

The site uses secure (HTTPS) connections. Each teacher can see only their own packets and their own students’ results. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect as little as we can.

Your choices

You can see and change what you’ve saved in your account. You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@puzzlepacket.com.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new date. If a change is important, we’ll also email account holders.
